Ernie the Elf was very popular and we started getting emails asking whether it was available as a book. We thought about the idea and didn’t know how to even create a children’s book, and decided to pass on the idea.

However during the following Chrismtas season, we received more questions about a book and one from a mom with a child in a wheelchair who found Ernie and the Elf and the Special Gift very inspiring. The following spring, we find an artist, Jamie Jay, to illustrate our book and revised the story by removing many of the Left and Rights from the story.

After many months of hard work and revisions, Ernie the Elf and the Special Gift was published on Amazon and quickly made the Top 100 lists in several Amazon categories.

Since the release of the book, an Ernie the Elf and the Special Gift Christmas song has been enjoyed and view by thousands on YouTube. the song can be found on Apple Music, Spotify and all majority streaming platforms. We hope the song becomes a Christmas favorite of young and old.

Russell TroutmanAbout the Author
Russell Troutman grew up in a small town in Central Pennsylvania and now lives in Orlando, Florida.

I have a business and a creative side and that resulted in the writing of my first book Ernie the Elf and the Special Gift. In many ways, I am an accidental author as I never planned to write a children’s Christmas story. I wrote a Christmas Left Right story for our party game site.

That story resonated with the readers who said, you should make this into a Christmas book. If it was just one or two people commenting on the story, I never would have considered it but we got dozens of emails about this one left right game. After careful consideration, an illustrator was hired, revisions were made to the story and Ernie and his world came to life.

I don’t know if my first book will become a Christmas classic, but I can say that when you have a chance to invest in yourself do it. You may not know what the outcome will be but you will learn you can do amazing things.
